The kids arrived by plane from Rotorua to Christchurch to spend two weeks of Easter holidays with us travelling the South Island in the 5th wheeler.
We stayed the first 4 days in a campground in New Brighton, out at the Christchurch beach and did things around the area. We went up to Weka Pass ,North of Christchurch and went on a trip on a steam train.

As the Cadburry chocolate factory is right in the heart of Christchurch there was NO shortage off chocolate eggs, which was just how we like it...
Christchurch central city park were Christopher and Lidi had to proof how strong chocolate makes you, they could even hold up an UFO!!
On the way to Mount Cook we stopped at this river for lunch and Darrenmhad to have a go at fishing for a Salmon. Darren and I had all ready tried in various river mouths at the East Coast but no luck sofar. And not even the kids could persuade the fish, no luck again chicken foir dinner.
The weather was not always the best but that did not stop us from doing fun things here we are at the cinemas. The South Island has lots of boutique cinemas with couches and sofa's very comfy.
IChris in the double kayak he shared with the guide whilst darren and Lidi shared another double. Huka glacier lake was just stunning on another beautiful sunny day. we thought Chris was a cool dude.
The kids land Darren, in front of Mount Cook although it is still summer , winter is not far away and Mount Cook all ready has plenty of snow.
We are back at the East coast for our last days together at Moeraki, just North of Dunedin were we have a favourite camp at Moeraki fishing village.
The Moeraki light house from were you can walk to a bunker in the dunes and watch the blue pinguins come to shore. They are so cute when they surf onto the beach on a wave and than go into there breeding nest.
Moeraki boulders a scientific "wonder" these big pebbles are all over the beach and sticking out of the dunes, nobody really knows what happened million of years ago, very impressing.
Just us again, Darren drove the kids back up to Christchurch for their flight back home, whilst i stayed at the beach. From here it is to Dunedin to go on a 150 kilometre bike-trip, from Dunedin to Central Otago.
