December 2007 Rotorua

November is missing from our website,at this stage,  as we took all the photo's off our laptop before going over to Australia and put them on a disk for safe guarding. However when we came to update our website we came to the conclussion that we had not as yet made the november page. So that will be for later....

We were still in Waikanae on the first of December as we had gone down to Pek Peka beach to Susanne, Rob and the kids to celebrate Susannes birthday (on the 30th of November) and to watch Beckham play with the LA Phoenix soccer team in the caketin in Wellington.

For the remainder of December we spend time out at the coast as well as quality time with friends and family over the christmas holidays. We drove around with the roof of the Saab most of the time as it was super weather and the Dodge was sold!

 .

Number 23 that is the golden soccer boy with his team in yellow. Susanne, Liam, Christopher and I went with Liams school on the practice day together with a further 16000 kids.

IThis was the actual match and Darren and Christopher went by train from Waikanae to the caketin in Wellington about an hours drive way faster than by car and no parking hassles. The game was superb and Beckham even scorred from a penalty. The boys took lots of pictures and even a few short video clips.

As it was very nice weather we decided all to go to the beach and do some digging and have a swim in the ocean.

And digging they did, Darren and Christopher made huge holes and Jayna and Liam played peecka boo in them.

After we had brought Christopher back to Rotorua for his last few weeks at school before the Christmas holidays we went up to the Coromandel to visit Wayne and Jaqui in Whitianga and to drive along the coast up to Coromandel and Miranda coast. The Pohutukawas were out in full bloom and looking absolutely beautiful.

Here we are at one off the Auckland city councils regional parks along the Mirinda coast not even an hours drive away from the centre of Auckland. We stayed for a few nights and took the opportunity to catch up with Ron Bird in Auckland and we enjoyed a nice dinner with him, his son and his wife. And we also caught up with Loise and Roger for brunch in Auckland. This was to be our last trip with the Dodge and the 5th wheel as the Dodge was sold shortly after to a farmer from Invercargill.

Whilst delivering the Dodge to Rotorua where the farmer had flown into to pick up the car we were invited to the oppers family were Hilekes parents were visiting from Holland for 6 weeks. We had a nice and fun dinner together and the came a week later to visit us in Waihi beach.

On the morning of the 25th of December darren and I drove back from Waihi beach in the Saab to bring the kids and animals their Christmas presents. We met with Chris and Kat first and we shared presents around and continued to Ngongotaha to Henk and Alices. They had a christmas gathering for all of the family and we were invited to stay as well which we did and it was very enjoyable..

Christmas was pretty different this year as we were "kind off" without a fixed address and in the first year of travelling

That is why the animals Katherine and Christopher decided to ask Helen to make a photoshoot from them to give to us for a christmas present so we can always have them with us. Helen did a super job and the present is always with us.

We celebrated New Years Eve in Waihi Beach and started the New Year with sunshine and beach.
