Fantastic old worldly hotel we stayed in whilst in Queenstown. It was too wet and too cold for camping. The three of us shared a room and a few games of pool in the hotelbar.

We took a steam train from Queenstown over the high mountains to Stratham on the West Coast of Tasmania. Train one way a walk around in Stratham and bus back great day out.

We went from Queenstown by (our little) rentalcar to Stratham and contiued along the coast towards Mount Alpine National Park. On the way we stopped at Huge sand dunes and had a few rides down the dunes on our boogieboard, great fun.

Mr. Wombat or was it Mrs. Wombat, regardless a very cute and unique animal. An animal with square poopies, something you have always wanted to know, we are sure of it!

Fierce looking Tassie Devil, sadly and endangered species and still only living in Tasmania. We were fortunate and saw several of these nocturnal animals in the wild.

Another wonderfull and strange looking animal an Echidna.

As Tasmania not only has beuatiful unspoiled native forest it also grows and manages huge planted and managed Forest areas. We went and had a look at the paper factory and saw what some of these forests turn into, impressive.

Dismal Swamp on the way to the wild wet West Coat in the middle of a huge native stand of trees you can take this long and fast slide to the valley or you can walk. Tghe boys took the slide and I walked. The valley was just beautiful a wild rainforest at it's best.

White-breastes Sea-Eagle, you can not help but being in awe of these creatures.

On the shore of Eternity, mute witness for aeons, that today i came and stood at the edge of the world. Furthest point between two continents OZ-South America.
